Outdoor tiles in Bali get drenched every wet season and baked every dry season, so we specify tiles rated for exterior use with an anti-slip rating (R10 or higher) anywhere people walk wet. Andesite and through-body porcelain are our common picks for decks and terraces.
We prepare the base and form a drainage slope away from the building so water sheds rather than sits. Standing water is what stains stone, grows moss and works into joints — a correct fall prevents all of it.
Outdoor installs get exterior-grade adhesive with full coverage — never interior ceramic adhesive, which is exactly why so many Bali terraces lift after the first monsoon. The bond has to survive constant wet-dry and thermal cycling.
Porous stone is sealed to resist staining and algae, and we place movement joints across larger areas so the surface can expand in the sun without buckling. The result holds up through rain, sun and foot traffic.
