Tile Installation in Bali.
Done Without Shortcuts.

A ceramic floor, a shower wall and a mosaic-lined pool are three different trades wearing one name. Bathroom tiling starts with a membrane, floor tiling starts with a level screed, and pool tiling starts with a sound, dry shell. Get the start right and the tiles sit flat for a decade — skip it and they pop inside a year.

Why Tiles Fail in Bali —
And What We Do Differently.

Every callback we get to rescue someone else's tiling traces back to one of six skipped steps. Here is what we refuse to skip.

1
Membrane down before tile goes upA Bali bathroom without waterproofing under the tile lets moisture creep into the slab within a few wet months, and the adhesive lets go soon after. Sealing the wet zone is preparation for tiling, not an optional extra — no membrane, no tiling, in every wet room we do.
2
A screed you could roll a marble acrossLay porcelain over wavy concrete and you get rocking corners, hairline cracks and that hollow knock underfoot. We flatten the base properly instead of burying the problem in a fat bed of glue.
3
Adhesive chosen for the spot, not the shelfA submerged pool mosaic, a sun-baked terrace and a shower floor each call for a different bonding system. Indoor ceramic glue used outside is the classic reason terrace tiles let go after their first rainy season.
4
Room for the floor to moveTile fields expand in the midday heat; with no movement joints they tent and buckle. Informal crews rarely cut them. We place them wherever the span demands it.
5
Layout set out before the first cutSetting out from the centre line keeps cuts symmetrical and stops corners ending in fingernail-width slivers that work loose within months.
6
Eyes on the slab before a priceWe quote after standing on your floor, tapping the old tiles and checking the falls — because an honest number comes from the site, not from a guess over chat.

Tile Works in Bali — August 2026 Update

Mid-August finds Bali deep in the dry season, and for tiling crews this is the best working window of the year. Exterior adhesives and grouts reach full strength when a terrace stays rain-free for days on end, so most of our outdoor and terrace laying is scheduled now — and it is also the season villa owners drain and re-tile pools, since pool tiling needs a dry shell before immersion-rated adhesive can go on. Try the same jobs in the wet months and curing slows, tarpaulins go up, and timelines stretch. August needs none of that.

Crews are taking September dates across Canggu, Seminyak, Sanur and the Bukit now. If a pool interior, an outdoor floor or a guest bathroom should be finished before the December–January holiday rush, this is the month to lock a date. Labour rates are on the pricing page — send your m² over WhatsApp and we'll slot you in.

Tiling Questions, Answered

How much does tile installation cost in Bali?
Labour from IDR 90,000/m² for standard floor tiling. Bathroom tiling from IDR 120,000/m². Pool tiling from IDR 200,000/m². Materials quoted separately. Free site visit first. Full pricing →
Do you supply tiles or install mine?
Both. We can source tiles at trade prices from Bali suppliers, or we install tiles you've already bought. Either way works — tell us which you prefer.
How long does bathroom tiling take?
Standard bathroom (4–6m²): 2–3 days including waterproofing, setting and grouting. We give a firm timeline before starting.
Do you tile pools?
Yes — pool mosaics and ceramic with waterproof adhesive and pool-grade grout. We've done many Bali villa pools. Pool tiling details →
Which parts of Bali do your tilers work in?
All the main south and central areas — Canggu, Berawa, Seminyak, Legian, Kuta, Denpasar, Sanur, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua and Uluwatu — plus Ubud. Travel is on us wherever you are on that list, and the site visit stays free.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes — we come back and fix any workmanship issues free of charge within 12 months. Materials warranty as per manufacturer.
Is the dry season a good time for tiling and waterproofing in Bali?
Yes. The July–September 2026 dry season is the ideal window for outdoor, terrace and pool tiling — waterproofing membranes and adhesives cure best without constant rain, and draining and re-tiling a pool is far easier while the weather stays stable. We're booking dry-season slots across Bali now, so message us early to get outdoor work finished before the wet season returns.
How long does tile adhesive take to dry in Bali's humid climate?
Humidity slows curing noticeably. Indoors we keep foot traffic off a freshly laid floor for a full day and grout the day after laying; in the wet season we allow longer. Pools wait longest of all — the complete system cures before the water goes back in. Those waits are built into our schedule, because rushing a floor you'll walk on for years is a bad trade.
Can you lay new tile over an existing tiled floor?
Often, yes. If the old floor is solidly bonded and level we clean it, prime it and tile over the top — no demolition dust, less cost. The floor rises by the tile-plus-adhesive thickness, so we check doors and thresholds first. Where tapping reveals hollow or damp patches, over-tiling would just inherit the problem, and we'll say straight out that stripping back is the better route. Floor tiling details →
When should the grout in a pool be renewed?
Watch the joints, not the calendar. Once waterline grout turns rough or powdery, gaps open up, or algae keeps reappearing along the same lines however often the pool is cleaned, the grout has stopped sealing. On Bali pools with cement grout that point tends to arrive after a handful of seasons of sun and chemicals; epoxy grout holds far longer. We check joint condition during any pool tiling visit.
