Bathroom Tiling in Bali

Professional bathroom tiling in Bali. Waterproofing membrane, walls and floors, correct drain slope. All areas.

What We Do

Bathroom tiling in Bali has one non-negotiable step: waterproofing before any tile goes down. Without a proper membrane, water works behind the tiles within months, adhesive bond fails, and tiles start coming loose within a year. We apply membrane, tile walls and floors, slope floors to the drain correctly, grout cleanly and silicone all corners.

Starting Price

Labour from IDR 120,000/m². Materials (tiles, adhesive, grout, waterproofing) quoted separately. Full quote confirmed before work starts. Full pricing →

How We Do It — Step by Step

1. Waterproofing first

Before a single tile goes down, we apply a proper waterproofing membrane across the floor, up the walls in the shower zone and into every corner and pipe penetration. In Bali's humidity this is the step that decides whether the bathroom lasts ten years or starts leaking into the room below within twelve months. Most failed Bali bathrooms we're called to repair simply skipped it.

2. Substrate and slope

We level the substrate and form the correct fall toward the drain — a gentle, consistent slope so water never pools. Get this wrong and you have standing water, staining and a slip hazard. We check the fall with a level before tiling, not after.

3. Setting walls and floors

Walls and floors are laid with the correct adhesive and full coverage — no dot-and-dab that leaves hollow tiles. We plan the layout from the centre and the key sightlines so cut tiles land in discreet places, not as thin slivers beside the door.

4. Grout and silicone

Clean, even grout lines, then flexible silicone in every internal corner and at the floor-to-wall junction where rigid grout would crack. We finish the wet area so it reads tidy and performs properly.

Common Problems We Fix

The bathrooms we're called to fix in Bali almost always failed for one of a few reasons: no waterproofing membrane, a floor that slopes the wrong way or not at all, hollow tiles from poor adhesive coverage, or rigid grout used in corners that should have been siliconed. We address every one of these on a new install — and diagnose which one caused the problem before any repair.

How long does bathroom tiling take in Bali?
A standard bathroom of 4–6m² takes 2–3 days including waterproofing, setting and grouting, plus curing time before use. We give a firm timeline before starting.
Do you waterproof before tiling?
Always. A waterproofing membrane goes down before any tile in every wet area we install. It is the single most important step for a Bali bathroom and we never skip it.
Can you fix a leaking bathroom that's already tiled?
Yes — we trace the cause first, usually a failed or absent membrane, then strip back the affected wet area, waterproof correctly and re-tile. See our tile repair service.
Do you supply the tiles?
Both options work. We can source tiles at trade prices from Bali suppliers, or install tiles you've already chosen. Tell us which you prefer.
