Our Ubud clients are villa owners, retreat and wellness operators, and long-term expat residents in the surrounding villages of Tegallalang, Mas and Penestanan. Many want a natural, earthy finish, which means stone that has to be sealed and maintained correctly to survive the constant moisture.
Constant high humidity in Ubud means unsealed limestone and travertine stain and grow algae quickly, and timber-adjacent installs need extra care with movement. Andesite is the workhorse here — naturally anti-slip and rain-tolerant — and we seal it on a schedule so it doesn't go green. Outdoor stone paths and pool decks get exterior-grade adhesive and a proper drainage fall so water never sits on the surface.
A retreat near Tegallalang asked us to re-lay an andesite path and pool surround that had gone slippery and mossy. We lifted the loose sections, re-bedded them with exterior adhesive, corrected the fall and applied a breathable sealer. It now sheds water and stays grippy through the wet season.
Ubud is slightly further out, so we usually visit within 2–3 days and plan the job around material drying times. Same rates island-wide, no travel surcharge. We assess the substrate and layout on site before quoting, so the price reflects the actual job — not a guess.
