Many older Seminyak villas sit on slabs that have settled over the years, and owners now want 60×120 cm or larger porcelain across the living areas. That combination is where hairline cracks along long edges come from. Before we quote we check the old floor for hollow patches and movement; where the slab has moved, a decoupling membrane goes under the new tile, and the screed is ground or re-levelled until a straightedge sits flat. Seminyak's pool lounges, outdoor bars and restaurant terraces mix interior-style finishes with wet feet and spilled drinks. Polished marble or glossy porcelain that is fine in a dry living room becomes a slip hazard by the pool, so we specify honed or structured finishes and an anti-slip rating for any floor within splash distance.
